About

hey me

The Blog

The majority of what I write here is highly personal, devotional in nature, and very Christ-centered.  I’ll write about any and everything that crosses my mind.  Anything from my life, play, friends, relationship, religion, politics, work, school, you name it.  Anything will be a topic for blogging.  Warning:  My writing is usually philosophical a lot of the time, so be prepared for that.

No.  Not every jot and tittle of my crazy mind is poured out here, even if it seems that way.  By design, this blog is the tip of the iceberg and will not exhibit more than that.  I am not writing to entertain nor to necessarily provide content for others to consume.  It is a living journal and testimony.  That is all.  (Read my other page Why ‘Merely David’ and ‘David’s Progress’ for deeper understanding.)  Take from it what you will.  Share with me and others what you desire to share so long as it is wholesome, respectful, true and loving.

Happy reading and God bless you!

About David

Hi! I am David Moore, 31-years old, a music educator and U.S. Army Reserve Soldier and veteran with one tour completed in Afghanistan. This is my journal.

My hobbies are many, but the main ones are reading, writing, movies, photography, philosophy, apologetics, lounging, sleeping, sleeping, lounging and sleeping.  Why?  Because I don’t get enough of it.

I was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and still live there. I am unmarried, single, no children, and I have one dog named Coby.  My education background consists of having attended the University of Florida where I earned a Bachelor of Music Education with a Choral emphasis (choral conductor and teacher), followed by an incomplete Associate of Science in Video Production at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. Perhaps, I’ll go back or continue elsewhere to fulfill this degree.

Presently, I am enrolled with Liberty University Online for my Master of Arts Worship Studies graduate degree and it is kicking my butt.  Additionally, I desire to study Christian apologetics and philosophy following this degree.  I am all over the map admittedly and I am fine with that right now.  I am not a mapped out person, and never have been.

I would love to share my testimony on here, but for now I am waiting until the time is right–God’s timing.  Meanwhile, enjoy this journal of all my thoughts, essays, devotions, musings and life stories.

Please allow me to share with you the endstate of my testimony with the words of one of my favorite quotes from among the greatest of Christian literature by John Bunyan, “The Pilgrim’s Progress.”  And hence, why I call my blog, ‘David’s Progress.”

Thus far did I come loaden with my sin; Nor could aught ease the grief that I was in, Till I came hither: What a place is this! Must here be the beginning of my bliss? Must here the burden fall from my back? Must here the strings that bound it to me, crack? Blest Cross! Blest Sepulchre! Blest rather be the man that there was put to shame for me.”
